Water4Life Global is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing clean water to indigenous communities in Guatemala. Their mission is to transform lives one drop at a time, with a focus on sustainability and community empowerment. Through their initiatives, they provide access to clean water by distributing individual water filtration systems, collaborating on innovative biological water treatment plans, and contributing to the reforestation of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala.
Jenna MacEwan and Joanna Herr (one of our own eClub members) will be presenting on this intriguing and essential WASH project in Guatemala.

All members in the Houston area and others via zoom are invited to attend the Installation of Officers for the Board of Directors for the Rotary year 2024-2025. Dinner will be included - please pay $20 for your participation in-person. The zoom link will be provided later. We rarely have an opportunity to gather in-person so we hope that many will attend to meet the new board members and other members. There are many of our members who will be involved with Rotary Youth Exchange training during the day, but we hope that you may still join us. |

Our Keynote Speaker, William Kamkwamba, is a Malawian inventor, engineer and author. He gained renown in his country in 2001 when he built a wind turbine to power a water pump in his village from bicycle parts. Since this invention as a young boy, he obtained a scholarship and graduted from Dartmouth College in 2014. Our monthly meeting will be held on November 19, 2024 via zoom with PDG George Yeiter speaking about the Rotary Foundation. PDG George Yeiter, in simple to understand language will explain the impact of the Rotary Foundation, how our club benefits and how it may help the projects you're passionate about.
George is a retired CPA and Certified Financial Planner, and serves as a Rotary Community Volunteer. He has had a distinguished Rotary career having served in many capacities, including District Governor for District 5890 from 2003-04, Delegate to the Rotary International Council on Legislation, 2021-22 District 5890 The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Endowment Fund Co-Chair, 2021-22 Endowment Legacy Club Committee Member, Awardee of The Rotary Foundation’s Citation for Meritorious Service and Distinguished Service Award, and member of The Arch Klumph Society.
